1. About THESAURUS

THESAURUS is an online tool from Proyecto WWW that works as a comprehensive contacts and deadlines agenda. Its name comes from the Latin thesaurus (treasure, repository) and forms an acronym of its main features: Telephone, Harmonize, Events, Search, Agenda, Utilities, Records, Unlimited, Sort.

The application allows you to manage contacts with multiple phones, notes and birthdays, as well as associated or independent deadlines. All information is stored in the browser using localStorage, with import and export options in .vcf format (compatible with mobile phones) and .json format (for backups).

2. Main features

• 📞 Telephone: Import and export contacts from/to your phone via .vcf files, with smart deduplication of repeated numbers.
• 🔄 Harmonize: Detection and merging of duplicate contacts upon import, with bulk actions (skip, merge, create all).
• 📅 Events: Manage deadlines and automatically calculate upcoming birthdays. Search events by day or month range.
• 🔍 Search: Advanced content search with logical operators (AND, OR, NOT, XOR) across all contact and deadline fields.
• 📋 Agenda: Comprehensive contact organization with multiple phones (mobile, home, work, fax, other), custom notes and birthdays.
• 🛠️ Utilities: JSON database import/export tools, bulk duplicate actions and full data clearing.
• 📝 Records: Create, read, update and delete (CRUD) contacts and deadlines with an intuitive interface.
• 🌐 Unlimited: Fully online execution with no storage limits (depends on localStorage), with automatic persistence on every operation.
• 📊 Sort: Paginated contact lists (alphabetical order) and event lists (upcoming, past, all) with dynamic filters.

3. How to use the tool

The interface is divided into clearly identified sections. Below are the basic instructions for each functionality:

3.1. Add contacts

Fill in the name in Last Name, First Name format (e.g.: Smith, John). You can add multiple phones with different types (mobile, home, work, fax, other). Birthday and notes are optional. Press Add contact to save.

3.2. Add deadlines

Select an associated contact (or leave it free), enter a description and the deadline date. Press Add deadline to save.

3.3. Search upcoming events

Specify days or months ahead and press Search upcoming events. You will see birthdays and deadlines sorted by proximity, with remaining days indicated.

3.4. Search content

Enter search terms (one per line) and select the logical operator (AND, OR, NOT, XOR). The search scans all fields. Check the expandable help to understand how each operator works.

3.5. Import/Export

Use the buttons in the Import / Export phone contacts (.vcf) section to bring contacts from your phone or generate a clean file to take back. Use the Import / Export database section to save or restore all information in .json format.

4. The application

Important: Data is stored exclusively in the browser (localStorage). It is recommended to periodically download a backup in .json format to avoid accidental losses. The tool is free to use and does not send information to any external server.
