Presentation of the author of Proyecto WWW. Personal data, interests, skills, education, professional experience and lines of thought on law, scientific philosophy and technology.

The author

Jorge Verón Schenone, passionate about law, design and programming.

I am the author of digital artworks created through digital image processing. I am guided by rational thought and drawn to scientific philosophy and findings about the brain, particularly the neurobiological descriptions of arguments.

Autodidact. Lawyer (currently away from practice). Programmer in progress; critical thinker. GNU/Linux user. Politically independent; I defend a democratic and egalitarian republic (in opportunities, rights and obligations).

My vision is progressive regarding society, education, justice and politics.

My professional practice —while I practiced it— was interwoven with the institutional dynamics of the legal field and, more speculatively, with the birth of the philosophical. Technology brings me closer to free software; art maintains a deep dialogue with other forms of knowledge. Each of these languages helps me translate experience, to seek meaning where there seems to be only rules.

In my youth I was a BBS SysOP and Webmaster.

Expectations

Currently, I have put on hold the development of my hand-hatching drawing technique (line drawing), due to lack of time derived from other responsibilities. I continue to develop scripts related to visual art (using Python, ImageMagick and GIMP as subprocesses, in a GNU/Linux environment), write some poems and seek to advance in fiction stories –an activity that requires more elaboration time–.

Reasons for suspending the practice of law

Objective reasons that motivated the suspension of professional practice.

The finding of an unsalvageable contradiction between two acts of public officials in the same file: the act of a Notifying Officer (public instrument with full faith) and a Secretary's report that contradicted it, without the due incident of redargución de falsedad (challenge of falsity) (arts. 296, CCCN, and 393, CPCCBA). This situation violated the logical principle of non-contradiction and affected the social construction of legal certainty that must preside over every process, demonstrating that institutions can generate contradictory narratives that erode the legitimate trust of litigants.

The lack of response from the disciplinary control bodies of the Judiciary and the Bar Associations to the complaints filed (Bar Association of San Martín, April 7, 2009; criminal justice, IPP nº 15-00-04 49 26-10; Subsecretariat of Disciplinary Control of the SCBA, November 1, 2010; Bar Association of San Isidro, July 2, 2013). In all cases, the proceedings concluded without determining the objective legal truth (SCBA Agreement 3354, art. 5 inc. c).

The verification that the disciplinary system did not investigate or sanction the officials and lawyers who incurred the original irregularities or who, knowing them, remained on the sidelines. This situation reveals a systemic dysfunction that can be understood as a mechanism of institutional self-preservation, where structures tend to protect their members rather than purge practices, contradicting the duties of loyalty, probity and good faith required by the Code of Ethics (arts. 1, 2, 5 and 21).

The verification that, in the specific case, the professional who denounced the irregularities and strictly complied with adjective and substantive regulations was subject, years later, to a disciplinary sanction notified in an irregular manner (to a non-current address), while those who participated in the original irregularities were not investigated. This fact –which constitutes an effective reality in the terms of the triadic distinction of Mario Bunge– evidences a systemic incoherence that discourages the collaboration of professionals with the purification of the justice service, by sending a dissuasive message to the professional collective about the risks of questioning established practices.

The reiteration of judicial decisions that, instead of applying the judicial syllogism and respecting the principle of non-contradiction, substituted questions of law (quaestio juris) for questions of fact (quaestio facti), generating uncertainty and affecting the legitimacy of the system. As Ariel Ariza points out, the rationality of the judicial decision requires a coherent justification, contrastable with the objective records of the case.

Faced with these circumstances, the undersigned has chosen to suspend the active practice of the profession, until institutional conditions are generated that guarantee the effective validity of the principles of equality before the law, due process and objective legal truth. The accumulated experience demonstrates that persistence in professional practice in a context with these shortcomings is incompatible with the pursuit of justice that inspires the practice of law.

Explanation: In every judicial process, there must be certainty about who is suing and against whom one is suing; that is, if the parties hold the condition of suitable or legally enabled persons to discuss the object of the litigation. Lack of action must be understood as the absence of the invoked quality, either by the plaintiff or attributed to the defendant. In turn, it must be borne in mind that a corporation (its abbreviation is the acronym S.A., for Sociedad Anónima), constitutes a different corporate form from a partnership limited by shares (S.C.A., for Sociedad en Comandita por Acciones).

from 2008 to the present, has consisted of:

The planning, design, implementation and maintenance of Proyecto WWW;
Projecting visual communications, intended to transmit specific messages, with determined objectives;
The union of design with a hierarchy of contents;
The construction of hypertext documents, of Responsive web design, for visualization on different output devices (computer screen, mobile phone, etc).
The use of digital image editing programs, such as GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) and ImageMagick, for retouching and editing images, drawing free forms, resizing, cropping, making photomontages, converting to different formats; and other more specialized tasks, such as their use in certain techniques of "Digital image processing".
